You Say Garage, I Say Carriage House

At one time this old Flemish bond brick carriage house served as a three-bay garage for two of the West End’s older homes. Decades ago the upstairs storage and garage bays had been converted into a DIY-gone-awry apartment. Ripping out the shag carpet and decaying sheetrock to reveal brick—along with demolishing a perilous physics-defying homemade staircase(!)—helped us imagine what this garage-turned-tiny-home-living could be.
